Kawagoe International Residents' Network

K-Net is an international network for utilizing the varied talents of Kawagoe’s International Residents for broadening the perspectives of Kawagoe citizens.

Registrants may be dispatched to:

  • elementary or junior high schools to talk about the history and culture of one’s homeland.
  • community centers or companies to teach one’s native language.
  • municipal facilities to teach how to prepare food and to talk about music or leisure activities of one’s country.
  • Arrangements between registrants and K-Net users are in the hands of the International Relations Division.

Kawagoe City International Residents' Network - Guidelines

 (Purpose)
I. These Guidelines lay out the purpose and procedures for actualization of the Kawagoe City International Residents' Network (referred to below as the International Network). The International Network is for utilizing the varied talents of Kawagoe's international residents for broadening the perspectives of Kawagoe's citizens.
 (Registrants)
II. Interested international residents of Kawagoe may register for the International Network (referred to below as Registrants).
 (Activities of Registrants)
III. Types of activities Registrants may participate in:
 A. International activities sponsored by Kawagoe City.
 B. Public school events promoting international understanding.
 C. Continuing education events promoting internationalization.
 D. Other community events promoting internationalization.
 (Requirements for joining the International Network)
IV. Requirements for joining the International Network are:
 A. Having a valid Japanese visa.
B. Being at least 18 years old, and living, working, or studying in Kawagoe.
C. Having ability and interest in promoting international activities.
D. Having an understanding of the International Network Guidelines
 (Registration Procedure)
V. A. Interested international residents may join the International Network by filling out the Kawagoe City International Residents' Network Registration Form, and submitting it to the Kawagoe City Hall.
 B. Registrants should quickly inform the Kawagoe City Hall of any changes in the Registrant's Registration Form.
 C. Registration is valid for two years and may be subsequently renewed.
(Reporting on Activities)
VI. Should the Kawagoe City Hall request an Activity Report from a Registrant, the Report should be completed and returned by the time requested.
(Protection of Privacy)
VII. Registrants are expected to respect the privacy of individuals contacted through the International Network, and therefore should not spread any private information to others.
 (Management)
VIII. Management of the International Network is in the hands of the International Relations Division.
 (Miscellaneous)
IX. Additional items may be added to these Guidelines as required.
 Addendum
 These Guidelines became effective as of April 1, 2004
